If just chilling by the pool isn’t your thing for the whole time, there is a whole range of things to keep you occupied.

Visit Sagres and see Henry the Navigator’s School at Cape St Vincent, and take in some spectacular views at the most south-westerly tip of Europe.

If you have kids, drive east on the motorway for 30 minutes, and visit Zoomarine.
See the dolphin, seal, sea-lion, and tropical bird shows, enjoy the funfair
attractions, swim in the large pools, or just look around at the wildlife.
A great day out, and not too expensive either.

Or try a water park – maybe an almost sheer drop of 25 metres will be just the thing!
Two water parks are within 20 – 30 minutes reach of the villa by car.

Zoolagos is a small zoo just 10 minutes away.
Enjoy the different breeds of monkey, always a treat to watch
or if you have children go to the children’s zoo there and feed the goats.

Also a must for any motor enthusiast, is the Spectacular Autodromo Do Algarve
it is a Brand New FIA approved Motor Racing Circuit.

If you fancy a boat trip around the caves of Lagos, you can pick up the boat tickets
along the front at Lagos.

Many people want to see a bit of the Algarve, but maybe a bit less energetically.
Try a leisurely drive to Monchique, into the mountains.

Or if you are out for the day, go beyond Monchique and keep heading North. Santa Clara de Vehla is a beautiful unspoilt town, which is actually not in the Algarve region, but the Alentejo. You will actually also enjoy the drive – remember the days when you could drive and hardly see another car? Well, they’re back, if only for a few hours. Well worth a trip, if only to pay your respects to their excellent range of red wines
